Regeneus  Animal Health and Canobolas Pet Hospital are proud to announce their
joint venture to bring stem cell technology to the Central West of NSW
with the first treatments to commence at the beginning of June. 

Backed  by a team from New South Wales and Macquarie Universities the
biotechnology offers an advanced but simple new treatment for
orthopaedic conditions in dogs and horses. The treatment consists of
harvesting stem cells from the animal being treated which are then
processed and injected back into the affected area to assist in
regeneration of new, healthy tissue. 

“The great thing about it, as far as we are concerned, is that not only is
it cutting edge, but that it makes a significant difference in the
majority of cases and it is using the animal’s own tissue to help
regenerate and repair,” said Dr Geoff Freeth of Canobolas Pet Hospital. 

The technology has recently been used to help in a case of osteoarthritis
